Field Fires

There is currently a large field fire near Old Weston and the fire service extinguished a fire south of Buckworth during the week. With the weather remaining hot and dry anyone walking or driving must take extreme caution if smoking.

I understand that local farmers are so concerned they are planning to cultivate fire breaks so that any fire is less likely to spread into gardens or houses.

Field fires are real danger over the next few weeks so please take extra care.
